DE-DOTSalad, detox with dots!

It’s time for kohlrabi again and since we know you were longing for it, we have created a brand new recipe for you!

Just look back to the magical virtues of this funny vegetable in this old post (Kohlrabi-Sputnik salad) and try it here with a different, simple dressing made of olive oil and apple vinegar.

To keep pace with the season, chop some fresh and crunchy apples and you will enhance the detoxifying properties of this salad. Raw apples are indeed fresh in energy and perfect in case of excess of Heat (and/or alcohol) and thirst, thus helpful to nourish liquids (especially of Lung and Large Intestine). Plus being the overall taste of this salad a bit acidic, Liver will be grateful, too. Add then a gentle sprinkle of poppy seeds and remember: it is not just a matter of flavour, but also a fine tuning of shapes and colours.

Serves 2 -really Easy -Prep time: 10 minutes

You will need:

  • 1 kohlrabi medium size;
  • 1/2 apple;
  • 1 tbsp of olive oil EVO;
  • 1 tbsp of apple vinegar;
  • 1 tsp of poppy seeds;
  • a pinch of salt.

How to:

  1. Peel the kohlrabi with the help of a potato peeler or a knife and slice thinly;
  2. wash the apple and slice it to the same thickness of the kohlrabi;
  3. mix the vegetables in a bowl and dress them with oil vinegar and salt;
  4. add poppy seeds, mix well and serve.
